Bishop A. Wayne Brown was born on July 21, 1939 to the late Carlee and Katie Glaspy Brown of Landis,
North Carolina. He is a graduate of Unity High School. Statesville, North Carolina. Bishop furthered his education in the religious field by attending Hood Theological Seminary, Salisbury, North Carolina and Shaw University extension program, Kannapolis, North Carolina. He also received extension ministry studies through the Apostolic Christian Academy. Sacramento, California.
Bishop Brown has traveled the eastern coast from New York to Georgia speaking in conferences, revivals and local churches, He was blessed to visit the Holy Land in Isreal in November or 2000.
Bishop Brown accepted Christ into his life as a teen while in high school prior to be called into the ministry.
His church activities included Sunday School teacher, member of the trustees and deacons boards, and also sang in the church choir. He also sang in the family singing group The Gospel Trumpets for over ten years.
Bishop Brown was called into the ministry over forty-five years ago and received his license under the Overseer Carrier Jones of Lakewood, New Jersey. He began serving as pastor of Smith Chapel Apostolic Holiness Church in 1978 and was later ordained by the late Bishop Ray Ferrins of Salisbury, North Carolina.
Bishop Brown is married to Roxie Mae Mitchell. They have four sons; Perry, Ernest, Charles, and Kevin.
Two daughters-in-laws; Marsha and Cynthia; ten grandchildren and five great-grand children.
